Its library contains one of the world's most extensive collections of literature on alcohol and drug abuse.
Adoption Council of Canada Services: The ACC raises public awareness of adoption, promotes placement of waiting children and stresses the importance of post-adoption services. These services are provided though the ACC's resource library and clearinghouse, the publication of a quarterly newsletter and other resources, conference planning, and information and referrals in answer to adoption inquiries.
Association for the Neurologically Disabled of Canada Services: A.N.D. Canada provides functional rehabilitation programs to individuals with non-progressive neurological disabilities. The programs are home-based, non-institutionalized and are individualized t meet the needs of each client and family. Individuals with a broad range of disabilities, including fetal alcohol syndrome, may benefit from the program.
Drug and Alcohol Registry of Treatment (DART) Services: Provides comprehensive, up-to-date information on the availability of a wide range of treatment options to professionals seeking substance abuse treatment for their clients.
FAS/FAE Information Service Services: Through its National Clearinghouse on Substance Abuse, information resources are provided in answer to individual requests through the 1-800 number, e-mail and written request.
Motherisk Program Services: By dialing the toll free number in Canada, individuals who have questions or concerns related to alcohol use during pregnancy will receive information, counseling and access to care in their home communities. Members of the medical profession who have questions or concerns about specific clients and their use of alcohol during pregnancy may also wish to consult this team of experts which includes pharmacologists, toxicologists, neurologists and pediatricians. This telephone service is available from 9:00am to 5:00pm from coast to coast, Monday to Friday.
Office for Disability Issues Services: The office provides information regarding federal programs in Canada for individuals with disabilities. Publications are available.
